Tis the Season to be Busy

I feel like I have been running non-stop lately. I have already put in two extra hours at work this week trying to get a lot of our major projects done before the holidays. Husband and I finally picked our Doula and yesterday I chose a pediatrician for baby. Baby is as active as ever, bouncing around from one end of the womb to the next MC Hammer style. I am almost done Christmas shopping at last! I need to just pick up a few more things and will at last be done. I am taking a week off in between the holidays to chill out at the house with my family. My folks are coming over this year for Christmas, which is a great stress relief for me.

Baby Update: 25 weeks 5 days
  • baby can now open his eyes and see what is happening in his small little world.
  • He is also learning already how to say yes and no, with his new ability of moving his head back and forth and side to side.
  • Baby is approximately 2lbs and 12 inches long
  • Baby's nerve pathways in his ears continue to develop, which will allow him to respond to sounds more consistently. I am planning on starting to read to him now.
  • Boy babies usually experience a bit of growth during this week, as their testicles begin to descend into the scrotum. This process typically takes between two and three days to complete
  • This is the last week of my second trimester! Where did the time go? That means only 3 more months left. These last three months are suppose to be not so fun, with increased bathroom trips, back pain and heart burn.
Book Update:
  • Book #49: Ordinary Life Stories: This is a great collection of little short stories. I usually don't like short story collections, but this one was consistently good. 3/5 rating

I think it's so great that you are going to start reading to him already! I hope the third trimester goes well for you!

Baby was doing the running man?

The YouTube of that sonogram would be priceless to see!

"Can't touch this!"

You seem totally organized - and quite ready to start relaxing over Christmas.

And you won't necessarily get back pain or heartburn - but perhaps a less comfortable sleep...

Good luck with the heartburn, I had it bad, I really hope you don't get it but Ranitidine helps if you do and it is totally safe during pregnancy.

Enjoy going out now while you can because it won't be the same with a baby in tow. I was lucky enough to know my baby's birth date to within a couple of days from the word go, so I made sure I had a last supper at my favourite restaurant. Oh, and be prepared to kiss making regular blog posts goodbye!
